Astronomy in Bristol
Bristol is very fortunate to have a thriving society for amateur astronomers - Bristol Astronomical Society. The society dates back to the second world war when fire wardens, who were places in places with good strategic views of the city, discovered the night sky during the blackout. Today the society has over 100 members ranging from armchair to active observers.
