The OU

I have been a student of the Open University since 2001. Initially I studied for a bit of intellectual stimulation but after a while the OU got upset with me for skewing their figures and asked me to undertake a proper programme of study.

I have a bit of history with the OU: My mother studied for an OU degree in history when my brother and I were younger. My grandfather, having spent the later years of his working life in Africa, returned to get involved in the OU's programmes on third-world studies and was a tutor into his 80s. So you could say it's in my blood!
